Zaslove unwraps Children’s Day pack of stories


CHENNAI: Three-time Emmy Award winner Mark Zaslove loves to write stories for children. For Children’s Day, the gifted writer has come up with 30 stories to be released through the Indian start-up Bulbul Apps.

The Zaslove series includes Princess and the Pea, The Pied Piper, Bath Time, The Baby goes to Market and Potty Potty. “I’ve always been fascinated by the crossroads between education and entertainm­ent. Being on the Bulbul board of directors allows me to further my quest for next millennial ways of bringing knowledge to future generation­s in a fun and interestin­g fashion,” Zaslove said in a statement.

Prakash Dantuluri, founder and director of Bulbul Apps, said: “We hope each child will celebrate on their digital devices every single story the master writer Zaslove has written … What’s unique about Mark is that before he starts writing, he knows his characters thoroughly.”

Mr. Zaslove started out in animation screenwrit­ing in the mid-1980s, working on Disney movies such as The

Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron and The Little Mermaid. By the late-1980s, he had become a staff writer for Walt Disney television animation, working on many of the well-known Disney cartoons from that era.
