Kusha nets winner for ICF

A goal by Kusha in the dying moments of the match helped ICF edge Indian Bank 1-0 in the Chennai Hockey Association Era. Sambantham senior division league here on Saturday. It was effectively the last strike of a largely underwhelming game in which neither side displayed any coherence amongst its ranks. If ICF was largely profligate, failing to convert even one of a slew of penalty corners it earned, Indian Bank’s players routinely failed to control the ball in promising positions. Perhaps the only moment when a goalkeeper was tested was when Indian Bank goalkeeper Jagadeep Dayal, with four minutes remaining on the clock, had to dive full length and ward off a powerful strike by Deepak off a penalty corner routine.

The result: ICF 1 (Kusha 69) bt Indian Bank 0.
