It is known that pre­da­tion rates are higher at lower lat­i­tudes. Per­haps to es­cape this, birds mi­grate from the trop­ics to the poles to breed. This fun­da­men­tal pat­tern is now al­tered be­cause of cli­mate change. Birds now face higher pre­da­tion risk in the Arc­tic, a study in Sci­ence states.
