Making India proud
On a wintry day at Yale University, US, a team of students from Chennai made India proud, winning the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions. The event, culmination of year-long contests, had 1,350 junior scholars from 59 countries, grouped into teams of three for an intellectual showdown in a written essay contest, two quizzes, and three debates.
Twenty-five students from Sishya, American International School (AISC), KC High, APL Global, Sishya OMR, Vidya Mandir, Chettinad Hari Shree, Church Park, Bhavans, Sri Sankara, and GEMS International Dubai, were trained by A to Zee Creativity for the event. Adam Mihir Libby (Sishya), Sibhi Aravindan (Sishya), and Tejas Narayan (AISC) were the Champion team, repeating their victory at the Kuala Lumpur Global Round in June 2018. Aadi Sai won Top Individual Junior Debater, the first for a student from India.
