RJD to hold Lalu Sandesh Chaupal

Let­ter by party chief on how he was im­pli­cated in false cases will be read out

With the Lok Sabha polls just months away, the Rashtriya Janata Dal has de­cided to reach out to vot­ers with the message of party chief Lalu Prasad, who is cur­rently lodged in a Ranchi jail in con­nec­tion with the multi-crore fod­der scam cases.

The party on Satur­day an­nounced that it will hold ‘Lalu Sandesh Chaupal’ in ev­ery pan­chayat of Bi­har where let­ters to the vot­ers, in­clud­ing the one Mr. Prasad wrote be­fore he was sent to jail, will be read out. “We will let our vot­ers know how the CBI and the gov­ern­ments at the Cen­tre and the State con­nived to falsely im­pli­cate Lalu Prasad in cases and sent him to jail,” State RJD pres­i­dent Ram Chan­dra Purve told pressper­sons af­ter the party’s state ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee meeting con­cluded in Patna.

Party lead­ers later told

that they would read out four let­ters at the ‘Lalu Sandesh Chaupal’.

The first would be the one writ­ten by Mr. Ya­dav him­self, in which he ap­pealed to peo­ple “not to lose heart as each and ev­ery­one has to be­come

‘Govt.’s fail­ures’

In the sec­ond let­ter, RJD lead­ers talk about the fail­ure of the Cen­tral and State gov­ern­ments.

The third let­ter would have sug­ges­tions made by se­nior leader Raghu­vansh Prasad Singh.

The fourth let­ter would ex­plain how the gov­ern­ments at the Cen­tre and the State “con­nived with the CBI” to falsely im­pli­cate Mr. Ya­dav in sev­eral cases.
