RJD to hold Lalu Sandesh Chaupal
Letter by party chief on how he was implicated in false cases will be read out
With the Lok Sabha polls just months away, the Rashtriya Janata Dal has decided to reach out to voters with the message of party chief Lalu Prasad, who is currently lodged in a Ranchi jail in connection with the multi-crore fodder scam cases.
The party on Saturday announced that it will hold ‘Lalu Sandesh Chaupal’ in every panchayat of Bihar where letters to the voters, including the one Mr. Prasad wrote before he was sent to jail, will be read out. “We will let our voters know how the CBI and the governments at the Centre and the State connived to falsely implicate Lalu Prasad in cases and sent him to jail,” State RJD president Ram Chandra Purve told presspersons after the party’s state executive committee meeting concluded in Patna.
Party leaders later told
that they would read out four letters at the ‘Lalu Sandesh Chaupal’.
The first would be the one written by Mr. Yadav himself, in which he appealed to people “not to lose heart as each and everyone has to become
a Lalu Prasad” to dethrone the BJP from power.
In the second letter, RJD leaders talk about the failure of the Central and State governments.
The third letter would have suggestions made by senior leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.
The fourth letter would explain how the governments at the Centre and the State “connived with the CBI” to falsely implicate Mr. Yadav in several cases.
