Will work to strengthen coali­tion, says Gowda

For­mer Prime Min­is­ter H.D. Deve Gowda on Sun­day said he would not let the coali­tion gov­ern­ment col­lapse and would make all ef­forts to strengthen it.

He was speak­ing at a party work­ers’ meet­ing or­gan­ised in his con­stituency, Hassan, on Sun­day. The Janata Dal (Sec­u­lar) na­tional pres­i­dent said he had dis­cussed with for­mer Chief Min­is­ter and coali­tion co­or­di­na­tion com­mit­tee chair­man Sid­dara­ma­iah the steps to be taken to strengthen the ties be­tween the Con­gress and the JD(S).

He praised his son and Chief Min­is­ter H.D. Ku­maraswamy for the loan waiver scheme which was no small chal­lenge.
