Having started its eastern India sojourn with a confident win over Indian Arrows at Bhubaneshwar, Chennai City FC will be looking to sustain the momentum when it meets Neroca FC at the Khuman Lampak Stadium on Monday. The visitors are perched on top of the league standings with 33 points from 15 matches, and a win here will boost their chances.

With at least three sides battling it out in the title race, Chennai City can ill afford to rest on its oars with just four rounds remaining. Head coach Akbar Nawas insisted on the need for full points against Neroca and also wanted the side to be more creative and not lose shape in its push for victory.

“We have to greatly improve our game compared to what we did against Indian Arrows. We were not creating enough chances in our previous match and we cannot afford that against a side like Neroca which is very fast in attack,” he said.

The team will look to th Spaniards — Roberto Eslava, Sandro Rodriguez, Nestor Gordillo and Pedro Manzi — yet again. The match starts at 2 p.m.
