Luxury has a new address. And one that caters to your body and soul, rejuvenating both in a sumptuous environment that allows you to indulge your senses with the finest it has to offer. Welcome to the Shanaya Spa, in New Delhi’s Kempinski Ambience Hotel. With a comprehensive menu that spells ‘restoration’ in every sense of the word, the spa promises a heart warming experience in a serene environment. Spread across 7,500 sq.ft and designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), Shanaya Spa evokes a distinct sense of space and tranquillity. “We wanted the interiors to be planned in hues of beige and dark brown with an impressive use of artificial and natural light. To maintain the spa’s ambience, a lot of warm lighting has been used. Tremendous amount of hard work has gone in and we are of course happy with the end result,” says Vella Ramasawmy, General Manager, Kempinski Ambience. The entrance leads to an inviting reception area that features a mix of material, texture and colour to entertain guests. Walk ahead to the long corridor which

speaks volumes about the tasteful architecture and décor. Flickering earthen lamps strategically placed on long candles create a cosy set up. The aroma of mustard and aqua essential oils instantly relaxes an overwrought mind. The multiple vintage wooden doors seen on the walls are sourced from Gujarat and add a rustic appeal to the interiors. Beautiful mirrors and elephant grass placed throughout the corridor blend well with the modern architecture. “The main challenge was to utilise the space intelligently to provide all the facilities to guests. Our team of professionals made it possible with spacious therapy rooms, adequate shower area, a lounge at the spa reception, a smartly designed corridor, steam room, hammam bed and an ice fountain experience,” adds Ramaswamy. Each room has been designed to provide utmost comfort to guests. With a beautiful view of a lush green pasture from the wide window lending a feeling of quietude, the six rooms also feature different design details. The wooden flooring adds warmth to the room designed in hues of brown. The treatment rooms have brass ceiling lights that can be adjusted to suit your mood. In fact, the specially designed accessories have been ordered from France. The marble used is imported from Italy and the wooden flooring from Brazil. The Spa has broken the monotony with the use of mustard and grey carpets, lilac and golden linen, and glass and brass accessories.
