Simple prints, more zen like geometrical patterns are creative. It’s trendy to mix concepts and colours that your eyes like or heart desires. Moms are well read and prefer natural fibres that are easy to wash. Hence kids collections should follow aesthetics and practicality.
Motifs and prints currently in vogue?
The most popular theme in the West right now is the Swan and Flamingo. It’s yet to arrive on a similar scale in India, but not too far away.
What are the latest offerings from the brand?
Our latest furnishings in sync with the trend is the star and moon shaped cushions. We will shortly be launching unicorns and dolphins too.
Colour inspirations?
Black and white. Unbelievable, isn’t it? But, black and white make a great combo. A lot of greys and softer shades are also in vogue.
What would you personally suggest when it comes to furnishing the kids room?
A kids room should be flexible. In other words built to grow. To achieve that the most economical and practical way is with furnishings. Furnishings are like the icing on a cake. Just keep it personal, simple and customised to go with the rest of the room.
What are the different furnishing trends when it comes to kids collection?
Soft cotton blends with printed patterns in bold motifs. Specific themes based on sea life, fantasy features, puzzle art, globetrotters are the upcoming trends for the kids collection.
Motifs and prints currently in vogue?
Mostly the painterly style patterns with motifs - clouds, under sea elements, fantasy characters, brainy puzzles/rhythms, maps are interesting motifs that are creating waves.
What are the latest offerings from the brand?
Little Maspar is the latest and the most popular.
Colour inspirations?
Ocean blue for boys and deep pink for girls are any time the preferred colours. Also lilac, mint, celadon, metallic silver, blueberry, sand are the other fascinations to create astonishing combinations.
What would you personally suggest when it comes to furnishing the kids room?
A kids room should be designed in such a way that it should not only be a place to sleep, but much more. The furnishings must be 100 per cent cotton with a soft touch and feel. Organic cottons are more and more getting used for kids furnishings as they are chemical-free products.
What are the different furnishing trends when it comes to kids collection?
The trend that I feel is evergreen for kids is easy care and easy maintenance fabrics. The furnishings should be non-fussy. Cottons are great for kids. It is skin-friendly and easy to wash and use.
Motifs and prints currently in vogue?
I feel stripes work very well for kids room. They can vary from being bold two-colour stripes to thin and multi-coloured stripes all over. They add fun element to a room. With regards to motifs, large motifs are currently in demand.
What are the latest offerings from the brand?
We have come up with a collection of fun embroidered cotton cushion covers and bed covers. We also have some prints with a fun embroidered motif to add an element of interest.
Colour inspirations?
A kids room should be a colour scheme that the kid likes and makes them feel happy. They need to have a room they can come to and feel happy and refreshed. So, the inspiration of the colour has to come from the child and their likes and dislikes.
What would you personally suggest when it comes to furnishing the kids room?
Onset Designs
Talk to your child. Ask her/him how they want the room to look like? What colours excite them? Do they like car patterns or a sailor pattern? Do they like fairies or would they prefer a London underground tube theme. Let them be a part of the design.
