For me functionality is the key when designing any space, and it’s of paramount importance when making decisions about how I want the space to look. This holds especially true for spaces like the kitchen. I still remember my grandma’s kitchen. She loved placing her dishes in the most artistic way and everything placed at an approachable height and distance. We had a small table with chairs just outside her cookhouse, which used to be the family’s meeting point for conversations and delicious food. Those times are back! Kitchens again are the heart of the home, and therefore before doing up this space, don’t forget your own personality. Once your selection for cabinetry is done, start thinking about colours, pattern, texture or style you really adore. When it comes to adding colour to a kitchen, the choices are seemingly endless. We believe that these small details can make a big difference in this space. Our style guru Sneha feels that apart from countertops and cabinetry, the cooking dishes, gadgets and decor play an equally important role. After all, it should be a fun space to make everyday cooking an experience. So with all that in mind, here we are presenting the most ideas-filled issue focused on kitchens.

And if you feel that the space is incomplete without an artwork, we have that sorted out too! The Junk Art (Pg 88) pages featuring artist who are using anything and everything to make beautiful artworks that are awe-inspiring.

Lastly, if you are inspired by African, Asian, Nordic or French decor, fill your home with products featured in Shopping Spree (Pg30) with love!

Happy reading!
