Being a trendsetter for many years now, the recently concluded world renowned consumer trade fair, Ambiente showcased 4,451 exhibitors from 92 countries and attracted around 1,36,000 visitors from 166 countries

A peek into consumer trade fair - Ambiente

Good News! India was the partner country for Ambiente 2019 with a record number of 517 exhibitors this year. Exhibiting the best of design and Indian craftsmanship at the fair, the organiser Messe Frankfurt also invited three Indian design gurus to transform spaces within the fair ground. These spaces had to reveal their interpretations of Indian skills and crafts.

Hand Make by Ayush Kasliwal showcased unique objects that ranged from traditional originals to products that reflected the latest aesthetic standard with one thing in common that they are hand made. Bengaluru based designer Sandeep Sangaru’s “Starry Night Cafe” gathered bamboo furniture under a starry sky, inspired by rural life in India’s north-eastern states. What attracted the eyes were woven bamboo light fittings that made a canopy overhead.

Sunil Sethi of Fashion Design Council of India showcased his version through “The StepWell” that had hand-made products and artisans giving live demonstration of their products. He had also curated a space called Karwan that took us on a journey through time to experience India’s distinctive aesthetics.

GEFU will introduce 12 of its special and limited mited colour edition design products in gentle hues of rose, mint, , light blue and red. The timeless design series “Hirsch” from the Gmundner Keramik Manufaktur combines artistic craftsmanship with contemporary design. The collection features the new stagings in the jungle, the gray deer in the Scandi style, the red deer in strong black combined with the burgundy red deer in the elegant blackberry style.
