Analysing the beautiful looks behind a girl’s bedroom

The brief was the client’s simplistic desire of acquiring a uniquely designed bedroom for his two daughters aged four and seven respectively. Owing to their age, the architect concocted the scheme with a concept of ‘out of the fantasy world’ utilising shades of pink. The inspiration led to including fourposter bed in the centre of the room, with pink and white undertone. Forefronting the bed, an exclusive study table with seating, and a vibrant yet sleek storage unit has been introduced to comply with the frisky theme.

To further enhance the ambiance of the bedroom space, a supplementary library unit with a built-in cosy seating arrangement has been created. Even though ‘pink’ has been used in a profound amount, variant shades and tints of the colour were infused into the concept, instead of introducing a monotone across the entire scenario. In this design, the evident usage of pink was amalgamated with pure white, to

render a subtle effect and create a visual eutopia. The amicable brew has also been achieved by the inclusion of a mauve carpet, in front of the bed, and dashes of green and red.

Natural lighting was introduced into the room with the glazed openings on a single surface and countered with ambient lighting across the entire arena. A few of the lighting features, such as bedside lamps are added to provide the appropriate fantastical aura along with solving its functional purpose. The space planning involved minimal usage of decor since the chromatic representation was the fore-runner for this composition. Aspects that would enhance the functionality of the scheme while maintaining the essence of innocence, were the desired pieces that were combined as a part of the decor. The red storage unit laid out like a schematic flower bloom or the miniature mirror added to the dressing unit, were infused to form a graceful blend that could be savoured by the little patrons.
