A welcoming home with all natural ingredients

With an aim to create an open and fluid living space while playing well with enough natural light that the home gets, we decided to recreate the space by removing the kitchen partition and uniting the kitchen, living and dining environments,” saya Huzefa Rangwala, Director, MuseLab. Enter the living room that features a tan leather sofa that is complemented by a rug, soft furnishings and a contrasting throw to break the subtle hues all over. The walnut and birch ply dining bench is placed against the back of the tan leather sofa. The space has an industrial twist with the use of metal in bench and dining table. The warmth is carried through the cement sheet paneled wall and the walnut wood topped bar unit. The muted tone of the space is quiet inviting which reveals a lot about the owner’s taste for class and elegant designs. The designers played with colours here by adding a terrazo topped side tables, a statement arm chair and a glass top coffee table that features an interesting base. Since the bigger pieces make more of an effect, the home didn’t need heavy decorative pieces. However, small and right decorative items and greens help to create the space lively.

The entertainment and private areas are partitioned by cement sheet panelled wall with concealed door frames. The master bedroom showcases a perfect use of different materials. A perforated birch ply headboard is held within a walnut wood frame. The floor to ceiling window brightens up the space and the long terrazzo topped working desk goes well with the subtle hues of the space. The guest room can also be used as a den or study for its custom-designed sofa bed. This area is complimented with a walnut wardrobe and desk with clever detailing that is both contemporary and traditional. A blend of too many design elements and an ideal selection of artworks, Huzefa has given this abode a reflection of the owner’s tastes and styles.
