The Ideal Home and Garden

CHIC SPACES

Like the den of the ‘King of the Jungle’, Alex Pall of the famous Chainsmokers duo’s home is as rich, eclectic and dreamy as it could be!

Live like The Chainsmokers

IIt is customary to say that the house is the mirror of the soul. Considering that this is a totally true statement, it is natural that a man who’s achieved fame and wealth mixing music would be drawn to a house that’s a hodgepodge of archetectural styles. “All we know” is that the home of Alex Pall, half of the Chainsmokers - a Grammywinning DJ duo- was built in the 1930s and had renovations done in the 1980s and 90s which added a dash of industrial edge. The mashup is what appealed to the DJ and he turned to interior designer Peti Lau to help him decorate his Hollywood Hills house. Pall had already installed the nature-themed wallpaper and the orange-velvet couch in the family room when Lau began decorating the house. She acontinued the interior- jungle theme, as she called it, with a natural-fiber coffee table that evokes dried versions of the leaves on the wall, and leopard and tribalprint pillows. The orange, green and blue palette of the painting by Hassan Hajjaj recurs in trippy throw pillows from Silken

The circles on the sideboard are engraved to the back and side of the unit too, giving it an extreme character and hightened look. It is a perfect furniture piece for retro lovers or mid-century admirers, giving the knurling knobs on the drawers or the tapered legs.

From tropical patterns in the living area to an almost romantic and slightly dramatic master bedroom, you will find that there is nothing boring about this interior decor!

From the colourful, casual and youthful look to the details of luxury and refinement, these master bedrooms are a dream to any interior design lover.

Embracing the mix of style which was already going on in the house, the designer has approached each interior space as its own environment, mixing different decade styles and colours with Pall’s contemporary art collection.

Featuring a nice open layout, perfect to accommodate the tree that is literally growing through the entryway, the house boasts of classic bungalow features, including slate floors and stone fireplaces.

Favours and the vintage Turkish rug laid over a larger jute rug. The living room features a sideboard from Essential Home which is inspired by the 007 films. It is built entirely out of solid walnut wood, accented by its gold-plated brass front doors that feature a protruding circular design. “The house had this built-in eclecticism. It felt appropriate to approach each interior space as its own unique environment.” The international Interior Designer brashly mixed decades and colours and incorporated Alex Pall’s growing contemporary art collection, an approach that miraculously holds each room together. She has developed a signature style she coined AristoFreak. Peti expresses her worldy inspirations with eclectic colours, patterns, and textures to create romance and moods in all of her spaces. It is Lau’s ideology of “old world charms” adapted for modern living that gave this house a oneof-a-kind vibe.

?? ?? The family art piece dictates the overall look and feel of the room. Complimenting the powerul piece is an equally bold colour palette- Benjamin Moore’s Polo Blue on the walls creates a statement and “a sense of sexiness and masculinity”.
