2020 at world’s leading home decor show Ambiente. With a hall dedicated to dining area that concentrated on exhibitors in HoReCa sector this year, the show featured a special presentation called Focus on Design, featuring outstanding products and providing detailed insights into recent design highlights. For the 2020 edition, Ambiente started with a young designer nation that has been developing quite rapidly: Brazil. The fair saw five design studios from Brazil, each with its own special identity, in addition to several young Brazilian designers presenting their unique handmade items and limited series in the Talent area. 1. Limited Edition
Denby’s ‘Statement Collection’ showcases the brand’s expertise in achieving impactful glaze effects on their handcrafted stoneware pottery. Each piece is individually hand-decorated and differs from other, creating a unique piece of artware in the style of studio potters. 2. The Epic Flow
Maxwell & Williams’ novelity MULGA features pop colours and crazy motifs. Istanbul-based global design brand, Nude has launched the statement Rock and Pop Artist collection which is inspired by the disruptive nature of rock, pop and punk culture, Nude has commissioned young creatives to customise their signature glassware for a giftable range of glass accessories. The pool of emerging talent includes illustrators, graffiti and tattoo artists who have updated the brand’s minimalist aesthetic with bold, graphic designs that couple the timeless nature of rock culture with Nude’s contemporary simplicity. 5. Dual Seat
Seating furniture BRILLI from Hey-Sign reminds of a smoothed gemstone so that each side offers new perspectives and interesting viewpoints. The combination of squares and triangles is in particular distinctive. The seating appears like an object in its surrounding, depending on how you turn it, rather dominant or filigree. The collaboration between Royal Delft and artist and tattoo artsit Henk Schiffmacher has a collection that is layered, deeply rooted and respectful ode to Delft Blue and the art of tattooing.Especially for the exposition exclusively hand-painted objects designed by Henk Schiffmacher were created with Royal Delft master painters, in which the two worlds almost literally seem to touch and connect. The beautiful, 50s-inspired expression includes rounded shapes and matt surfaces, which offer a comfortable grip and a harmonic expression that will look great in your kitchen. The FOODIE line comes in a black and white version as well as a limited edition in delicate pastel colours, adding a more playful and informal touch to the design.

1. Lights On!
Rosendahl is introducing Soft Spot Solar, an elegant, portable LED design in browned steel and opal plastic that lifts the mood by adding ‘hygge’ while lighting up everyday moments, right where they are experienced. The new spring lantern recharges both via USB and solar energy and can therefore be used all year round indoors and on the terrace, in the garden or by the beach. The Soft Spot Solar, in three sizes, was created by Maria Berntsen, who previously innovated the glass lantern and is once more transforming her design and functionality into new materials. 3. Greens Forever
Now adding character to your interiors through different colours, materails and sizes of pots is more than easy with Eva Solo’s novel launch. The flowerpot has a self-watering system, which make it easy to keep plants fresh and beautiful without having to spend too much time looking after them. The flowerpot ensures optimum growing conditions by means of a nylon wick that connects the pot with the water reservoir in the dish below, so that the plant can draw up the water it needs. For the first time Ben van Berkel/ UNStudio ventures into the design of a piece of furniture dedicated to children’s needs. In a playful invitation to explore, “Doraff” from Alessi offers a multifunctional and colorful piece of furniture that children can use to imagine riding a giraffe or playing with their dog. The seat can also easily be flipped turning into a small table suitable for painting or having a snack.
