“Start with white walls. Choose a warm or cool shade based on your palette and the lighting in the room. Sofas upholstered in a good quality ivory fabric look chic and soothing against neutral walls. To create the white and black mood add some accents like the Iqrup + Ritz Kohima or Tribal cushions and ceramic lamps or vases. Not all your furniture has to be a traditional brown polish and we often combine furniture pieces in our signature weathered black with pieces in more classical finishes like teak. Woven fabrics with small prints like hounds tooth can also complement the look.”

“A monochrome colour palette is classic, timeless and forever chic. The fluidity of the yin and yang ancient chinese symbol is something that comes to mind when incorporating black and white colours in interiors. When designing a black and white space there should be a balance between lightness and darkness, pay attention to positive and negative effects as described in the area of art. The colour white being a pure, neutral shade plays of the contrast that black provides well. Use black to accentuate pieces like furniture, architectural features, wall accents, stairways, light fixtures and quirky bookshelves and decor items. While following a monochrome scheme, a clean modern Scandinavian theme works well. Play with different textures with black and white and bring in a natural wood tone to add warmth to room.”

“Black or White is a bold choice for any space. How you use these colours is important. When done thoughtfully, a black or white space can not only look harmonious but also be a visual treat. It involves choosing your textures, colours and patterns carefully. One of the biggest misconceptions is that black makes spaces look smaller. If you use the same colour as the base, it not only makes the space flow seamlessly but also makes it look larger. Using gigantic mirrors enhances the experience. When you want to mix black and white, don’t hesitate. You can make a space bold by choosing graphic textures. Choose your colours and graphics with confidence. It will not only portray your distinct style but also tell a story.”
