Amanmani strangulated wife, made up accident story: CBI chargesheet
AMANMANI TRIPATHI killed his wife Sara Singh by strangulating her as part of a “premeditated plan” to get rid of her by portraying the death as a road accident, the CBI has alleged in its chargesheetfiledonsaturday.the Cbiprobealsofoundthatsarawas being subjected to “physical torture and cruelty” by Amanmani.
Sara was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Firozabad district in 2015. Amanmani had claimed that he and his wife were on their way to New Delhi for a holiday on July 9, 2015, when Sara died in an accident on National Highway-2 and he escaped unhurt.
Amanmani, who is lodged in Ghaziabad’s Dasna jail in connection in the case, is contesting the ongoing Assembly elections from Nautanwa seat in east UP’S Maharajganj district as an Independent. The CBI had registered the case on October 19, 2015 on a request from the state government and arrested Amanmani on November 25.
The chargesheet was filed in the court of Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI, Ghaziabad, under IPC sections 498 A, 302, 201 and 120-B, said CBI spokesperson RK Gaur.
Sara’s mother Seema Singh, who had filed a complaint against Amanmani and his family members at the Sirsaganj police station in Firozabad, said, “The agency should also probe the role of Amanmani’s parents and relatives because there are several persons involved in the crime.”
The CBI probe is trying to ascertain the role of others in the crime, a CBI official said.
