- DHEERAJ MISHRA

Terming the implementation of the Kant report on stalled flats as a “big achievement of the government”, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said people were earlier reluctant to come to G ha zia bad but today ,“it is a smart city”.

“Earlier we were reluctant to come tog ha zia bad because of the crime and the filth. Today, it is a smart city. Builders are now giving flats to those who had been waiting for years. this was not just the builders' mistake, it was inaction on part of the government... People of the region will benefit from Rapid rail, Jewar Airport and Ganga Expressway. This is the ease of living,” said the CM as he exhorted people to vote for Atul Garg, BJP'S Ghaziabad candidate.

The UP CM was addressing a group of entrepreneurs, doctors, engineers, retired officials and businessmen, whom he referred to as Prabuddha Varg (intellectual class), at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Ghaziabad, as he kicked off campaigning for Lok Sabha elections.

In December 2023, the UP cabinet had approved implementation of the recommendations of the Ami tabhK ant committee report on real estate projects that included giving immediate possession and registry of the properties to buyers.

Targeting the Opposition on Kanwar Yatra, he said while there used to be “riots and curfew” earlier, today, the Kanwar Yatra takes place in a grand manner.

“Earlier, the Kanwar Yatra was not held because 'some people' would suffer. But we have not come to hurt anyone but to satisfy the society. and the satisfaction of the society lies in Sanatan Aastha (Sanatan faith) being respected...,” said Adityanath.

While naming consecration of Ram Mandir, removal of Article 370, Kanwar Yatra, Jewar Airport, Rapid rail and welfare schemes as big achievement soft heb ha ra ti ya Jan at aparty(bjp) government, the Up cm said this is the first election in which “everyone knows about the result as the Opposition is in disarray”.

He said, “All these are a result of your vote. So, use it at the right place.”

He further said ,“your one vote proved that Ram Lalla will play Holi in his Awadh; this has happened for the first time in 500 years. Section 370 was removed from Kashmir. Now in Kashmir, there is no stone-pelting on security forces. Instead, democracy is blossoming in the region. Our intellectual class talks about ease of living. This includes security, better environment, good connectivity, opportunities for health and education, and a conducive environment for business. After 2014, we have given all these to the people.”

Before the eventing ha zia bad, Adityanath held similar talks in Meerut and Mathura, covering west er nut tar pradesh, where voting will take place in the first and second phase of the election.

On BJP not giving ticket to sitting Parliamentarian General VK Singh (retd) from Ghaziabad, Adityanath said, “In the last 10 years, development works were taken forward under the leadership of General VK Singh. But change is part of the system.”

Garg is a BJP MLA from Ghaziabad Sadar and was a Minister of State in the last tenure of the UP government under Adityanath.

Garg said people from 'Prabuddha Varg' were invited as they are the leaders of the society and voters listen to them. “Thousands of people easily believe their words, that is why we held this conference and called them ... candidates cannot reach door to door in elections; hence, such people are expected to convey our message to the people,” said Garg during the programme.

Sunil Kumar, a resident of Sahibabad Assembly area and a Bjp member, expressed hope that the government would provide a safe environment for business. “Earlier it was difficult to do business ... but now we do not face such problems. Garg has good public relations andi tis expected that he will win,” said Kumar, a property dealer, who attended the conference.
