BJP running Op Lotus in Punjab, wants to topple AAP govts in 2 states: Bharadwaj

A DAY after AAP’S lone MP Sushil Kumar r ink fromja land h ar, along with Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural, joined the BJP, AAP senior leader and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP of running “Operation Lotus” in Punjab and Delhi to topple the AAP government.

“Arvind Kejriwal ji was first summoned by ED five months ago on October 23 last year... since then, he has been saying that this is not an investigat­ion into any liquor scam, but a conspiracy to arrest him and put him in jail... So that the BJP can topple the Punjab and delhi government­s by poaching the leaders ,” said Bharadwaj.

Addressing a press conference, Bharadwaj said among the four parties with presence in punjab— the AAP, the Congress, the SAD, and the BJP — it is the party at the helm at Centre that has “no strength” in the state. Also, accusing the BJP of running “Operation Lotus”, he said: “A question arises that if the BJP’S condition is so bad in Punjab, why did it poach AAP’S MP and MLA? Yesterday, we received informatio­n from our Punjab counterpar­ts that thebjp is approachin­g AAP leaders with an aim to poach them by lu ring them with money, position ,‘ Y’ plus securityan­d even mp seat in the upcoming Lo kS ab ha polls .”

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP unit spokespers­on Praveen Shankar Kapoor said: “Whenever AAP faces allegation­s or its leaders and workers start leaving the party, its leaders start concocting fascinatin­g tales of ‘Operation Lotus’ .... They never file any report and only level false, baseless allegation­s.”
