India will enter Pak to kill terrorists who flee there: Rajnath

DEFENCE MINISTER Rajnath Singh said on Friday that India will enter Pakistan to kill a terrorist who after commiting a crime in India take refuge across the border.

Speaking to Network18, Singh said India wants healthy relations with its neighbours, but if someone dares India and commits terrorist acts, they won’t be spared.

Rajnath was responding to a question based on the report by UK- based The Guardian newspaper, alleging that the Indian government had ordered the killing of 20 people in Pakistan and that “India is influenced by agencies like the KGB and the Mossad”.

Singh said: “20 terrorists ko maara hai? Koi bhi terrorist hamare padosi desh se yadi Bharat ko disturb karne ki koshish karega, ya yahan par aatankwadi harkatein karega, to uska muh tod jawab denge. Yadi woh bhaag kar Pakistan mein jayega, to Pakistan mein ghus kar maarenge ( Did you say we killed 20 terrorists? If any terrorist from Pakistan tries to disturb India, or commits terrorist acts here, we will give a befitting response. If he runs away to Pakistan, we will go there and kill him).”

When pointed out PM’S “ghar mein ghus ke maarenge” comment the previous day, Singh said: “Pradhanmantri ji ne jo kaha hai bilkul sach kaha hai. Aur yeh taakat hai Bharat ki, Pakistan bhi isse samajhne laga hai ( Yes, the PM is absolutely right. India is now capable of doing that, and Pakistan has also started realising this).”

And then he said, “Bharat apne padosi deshon ke saath achhe rishte bana ke rakhna chahta hai, chahe koi bhi padosi desh hai. Past history utha kar dekhiye, aaj tak humne na to duniya ke kisi desh par aakraman kiya hai, athwa aisi koi pahal ki ho, aur na to duniya ke kisi desh ki ek inch zameen par humne kabza karne ki koshish ki hai. Yeh Bharat ka charitra raha hai, lekin Bharat ko baar baar koi aankh dikhayega, yahan aa kar aatankwadi gatiwidhiyon ko badhawa dene ki koshish karega, usski khair nahi hai ( India wants to maintain healthy relations with its neighbours. If you see past history, we have never been the aggressor, never tried to occupy even an inch of other country’s land. This has been India’s character. But if someone dares India time and again, comes here and commits terrorist acts, he won’t be spared.)”

The MEA did not respond to a request from Reuters for comment on The Guardian report. Pakistan’s foreign ministry refused to comment.
