BJP attacks Kharge for asking what link Rajasthan has to J-K

Nadda, Shah take dig: ‘Art 370 not 371’

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

UNION HOME Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JPN add a Saturday targeted Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge for asking “what Rajasthan has to do with Kashmir” at a rally in Jaipur.

Shah posted a video clip on X in which the Kharge is heard saying: “They (BJP) are saying here that we have removed Article 371. What is the relation of that with the people here? Go and say that in Kashmir or Jammu.”

Reacting to the speech, Shah wrote on X: “It is shameful to hear that the Congress party is asking, ‘Kashmir se kya waasta hai? I would like to remind the Congress party that J&K is an integral part of India, and every state and citizen has the right over J&K, just as the people of J&K have the right over the rest of India. The Congress doesn’t know that many brave sons of Rajasthan have sacrificed their lives for peace and security in Kashmir. But it is not merely the fault of the Congress leaders. It is mostly the Italian culture of the Congress party that is to blame for not understanding the very idea of India. Such statements hurt every patriotic citizen who cares for the unity and integrity of the nation. People will certainly answer Congress.”

Attacking Kharge for saying Article “371” instead of article 370 of the Constitution, which dealt with the special status of kashmir before its abrogation in 2019, shah said: “And for the kind information of the Congress, it was not Article 371, but Article 370, that was abrogated by the Modi government. However, it is only expected

of Congress to make such horrendous mistakes. Such blunders made by it have haunted our nation for decades now.”

Nadda said X: “Another day, another gem from Congress! Kharge Ji displays the typical Congress mindset which wanted Jammu and Kashmir to remain disconnected from the rest of India. He doesn’t even know that Article in question is Article 370 and not 371! Jammu and Kashmir will remain an integral part of India. And, the removal of Article 370 is very much linked to national pride and the unity as well as integrity of India. Congress will never understand such emotions.”

In his address at the Jaipur rally, the Congress president, while referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said: “He gave a speech here, in Churu, Rajasthan. There are many issues of farmers here, farmers who are now troubled, thousands of people are dying by suicide. But you leave all of that and come here and say ‘I have removed (Article) 371’. Arre bhai, yahan ke logon se kya waasta hai (What has that to do with the people here)? Okay, you go and speak in Kashmir, speak in Jammu, but when you are speaking here, tell us what you have done for the farmers. Have the prices of fertilizer been reduced, have the prices of diesel been reduced, have the prices of petrol been reduced? So all that is not going to be done…”
