- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

THE AAP on Monday launched its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, which the party says is going to become a movement, and issued ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ as its tagline as it sought support for its jailed national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Aap national general secretary Dr Sandeep Pathak said the party workers would go to each house and meet every family in delhi, sit with them, and tell them how their CM had been arrested in a false case and how benefits from the policies and revolutionary steps brought by him will go away if the BJP comes in power. Pathak said all AAP workers, volunteers, and other leaders have been getting training and the ground work will begin now. Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the now scrapped delhi excise policy. he is currently lodged in Tihar jail.

While addressing a joint press conference with AAP Rajya Sabha Mp san jay singh, nd gupta, delhi convener go pal ra ian dot her senior party leaders, Pathak pointed to the developmental works done by the aap government ineducation, health, power, and other sectors in the national capital.

Pathak said: “The BJP has put CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail to stop him from fighting and campaigning for the LS polls... Kejriwal has worked for Delhi and its people. He considers Delhiites as his family... No CM had earlier thought about the education of children coming from poor backgrounds, but he worked so hard to give a good education to all the children of delhi, developed the health sector with free medicines, tests, and new hospitals, and gave free electricity”. “...The entire country is asking what is going to happen. How will Delhi function without him?... We have to bring him back... It is in the hands of you 2 crore people of Delhi”.

Rai said this is not going to be just an election campaign, but the city is going to witness a movement. “Ever since Kejriwal has been arrested, there is a question in the minds of every person — how will the election campaign be conducted without Arvind Kejriwal? the delhi election campaign is now the responsibility of the people for whom kejriwal has worked and cared for...,” Rai said.

Singh asked the people to take a look at their zero power bill and remember the face of kejriwal going to cast their vote in the upcoming polls on May 25. “Take a look at your child’s face who now studies in an AC classroom, look at the mohalla clinic which now provides free medicines and free tests, see your mother and sister’ s face who travels free and safely in the full surveillance buses and think about the elderly persons in your family for whom Kejriwal became their Shravan Kumar and made their wishes of teerth yatra true... Keep all these things in mind before stepping out to cast your vote on May 25.”
