PM NARENDRA Modi’s comments on the opposition eating non vegetarian dur in gS a a wan–ostensiblyaimed atrjd’ s la lu pr as ad and his son Tejashwi, and Congress’s Rahul Gandhi – evoked a sharp reaction from two parties. While Congress said a “panicky” Pm is providing a new example of his “sick mindset”, the RJD said Modi’s comments betrayed his “nervousness” over the upcoming polls, which would explain why he has“started ra king up sensitive, religious and emotional issues”.

The PM’S comments were seen as an attack on two videos – one from September, of Lalu and Rahul cooking mutton; and the other from earlier this week, of Tejashwi having fish.

“The law does not stop anyone from eating anything, and Modi will also not stop anyone. But intentions of these people (Opposition leaders) are something else. When the mug hals attacked here, they were not satisfied until they demolished the temples. Just like the Mughals, they want to tease the people of the country by showing the video in the month of Saawan,” he said.

Shortly after, Tejashwi said, “Key issues like poverty, unemployment, jobs need to be discussed.” He had earlier said the video was from April 8, before Navratri began.

Congress communication he adj air a mr a mesh said :“unlike the PM, we have not tracked which leader ate what in which month. here are the nutrition data points we are tracking. Between 2015-16 and 2019-21, anaemia in children under 5 increased by nearly 10 percentage points... In PM’S home state of Gujarat, a shocking 8 of 10 children under 5 were found to be anaemic.”

“Everyday the pm provides us with a new example of his sick mindset. The PM’S non-stop politicking is infantile and tiresome... A panicky PM is trying to find a new diversion everyday ,” ra mesh said. RJD spokesperson Subodh Kumar Mehta told The Indian Express: “We condemn the PM'S statement... his comments show he is nervous... He has perhaps seen the writings on the wall.”
