A 24- year-old student from ha ryan a’ s Sonipat was fatally shot inside ac arin South Vancouver, Canada, friday. there was no clarity about motive as the Canadian police claimed to be ‘early in our investigat­ion”. The victim, Chirag Antil, was shot dead near his apartment at around 11 pm, his elder brother Rom it an tilt old the indian express. Chirag had gone to Canada in September 2022 on a study visa and used to share an apartment with his friends.

“Chirag completed his graduation from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Delhi. He wanted to go to Canada for higher education and work. He got admission in an MBA programme and completed it from University Canada West, british columbia. he had recentlygo­t a job asa supervisor in a security agency there. I last spoke with him barely 30 minutes before he was shot dead,” Romit said.

“Chirag had completed his day’s work and reached home. He had parked his car behind the place where he was staying with his friends. It might be around 10.30 pm when he spoke with me and told me he was going out to party with his friends. A few hours later, we heard he was shot dead,” said Romit.
