PRIME MINISTER Narendra Modi has given a guarantee to bring 2036 Olympics to India, Union Minister Amit Shah said as he addressed a public meeting in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency Thursday. He also indicated that the Games will be held in Gandhinagar.

“People of Ahmedabad, Modi Saheb has given a guarantee that the 2036 Olympics will be held in India.tellme, wherewillitbeheld in India? Where in Ahmedabad? It will be held in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency," Shah said to a cheering crowd.

The day saw Shah hit the streets of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad districts with three roadshows that culminated at a public meeting in Vejalpur area.

The Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat is spread across seven Assembly constituencies in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts — Vejalpur, Ghatlodia, Naranpura, Sabarmati, Sanand, Kalol and Gandhinagar North.

Shah appealed to the people to provide a third term to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has not only provided safety to the country, but brought prosperity.

In the past 10 years of his governance, PM Modi has fulfilled promises such as elimination of terrorism and naxalism, the abrogation of Article 370, construction of Ram Temple, ending the practice of triple talaq, bringing Uniform Civil Code, and providing citizenship to Hindu, Buddhist and Jain refugees through CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), Shah said.

He targeted the Congress-led

UPA government for intrusions and bomb blasts carried out by terrorists. However, after becoming the Prime Minister, Modi gave a befitting reply following the Pulwama and Uri attacks by carrying out surgical and air strikes on Pakistan's land, the Union Minister said.

Crediting the PM for making India the fifth largest economy from its previous 11th rank, Shah assured that Modi, in his third term, will take India to the third spot. “PM Modi has given a promise to the people of India that by the time of 100 years of India's independence in 2047, it will be number one in the world in every field,” Shah said.

Shah was accompanied by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Vejalpur BJP MLA Amit Thaker. Shah, who continued his speech despite a power outage, said the governments of PM Modi and CM Patel have carried out developmental works worth Rs 22,000 crore in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
