BJP’S Moradabad candidate dies
A DAY after polling in Moradabad LS seat, BJP candidate Kunwar Sarvesh Singh died Saturday after he suffered a heart attack. Singh (72), who voted at his parental village Ratupura in Thakurdwara in Moradabad Friday, was not keeping well since he filed his nomination papers.
“He (Singh) suffered a heart attack. He was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi Friday night,” said a family member.
Singh, who hails from a royal family of Moradabad, was the only Thakur candidate from BJP in the eight seats of UP where

polling took place Friday.
The5-timemlafromthakurdwara,hadwonfrommoradabad in2014defeatingsp’ssthasan.in 2019, he, however, lost to Hasan.
This time, the BJP fielded him again – his fourth LS election – against SP’S Ruchi Veera.
Since he became unwell a day after filing nominations, he appeared in public only twice – in the rallies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Moradabad - during the campaign.
An official in Moradabad districtelectionofficesaid,“ifkunwar Sarvesh Singh wins the elections, therewillbeare-pollonthisseat.”
BJP chief J P Nadda said, “The news of the demise of Kunwar Sarvesh Singh ji is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved family.” Shah said on X: “Just a few days ago, I had gone to Moradabad to campaign for him. Like always, I had a cordial meeting and discussion with him. His demise is an irreparable loss for his family as well as all the people of Moradabad and the BJP family.”
Adityanath termed Singh’s death “an irreparable loss for the BJP family”.
