Nearly 300 students of Delhi govt’s Schools of Specialise­d Excellence qualify for JEE Advanced

AS MANY as 276 students from 12 Dr BR Ambedkar Schools of Specialise­d Excellence ( ASOSE) qualified for the JEE Advanced, out of 395 who appeared for JEE ( Mains), said the Delhi government in a statement Friday.

Of these, four students secured 99.9 percentile while 25 students scored more than 99 percentile. About 104 students secured more than 95 percentile, the statement added.

“Education Minister Atishi congratula­ted all students, their parents, and teachers on this wonderful achievemen­t by ASOSE students. The minister said it is the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that children studying in Delhi government schools should get every facility ( available to) children of big private schools,” the statement said

Atishi said, “... At ASOSE, we are providing the best facilities for world- class coaching and preparatio­n to our students. The result of this is that today, dreams of children from ordinary homes and poor families to become engineers and study at IITS are being fulfilled.”

“I hope that our students will continue their achievemen­ts. And with their hard work and the guidance of their teachers, they will also perform brilliantl­y in the JEE Advanced exam,” she added.

Last year, 104 students qualified for JEE Advanced and 720 students of Delhi government schools cleared JEE Mains, as per the data shared by the Delhi government. In the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, as many as 443, 384 and 493 Delhi government school students qualified for JEE Mains. Out of these, 53, 64 and 72 students qualified for the JEE Advanced in the same years.
