PM holds roadshow in Bhubaneswa­r, says BJD unaware of grievances

PRIME MINISTER Narendra Modi held a 2.5-km roadshow in B hub an es war on friday night and later targeted the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government during his second visit to Odisha in a week.

In a post on X following the roadshow, Modi accused the BJD of detaching from the ground realities, citing it a reason behind growing support for the BJP in Odisha. “While our Government has done extensive work, BJD is totally detached from the ground realities and is oblivious to people’s grievances. They have misunderst­ood the great culture and ethos of Odisha. No wonder Bhubaneswa­r and Odisha will support the BJP in record numbers,” Modi wrote.

BJP’S Bhubaneswa­r Lok Sabha candidate Aparajita Sarangi and state unit BJP president Manmohan Samal were present at the roadshow, which drew huge crowds.

The Prime Minister said on X that holding the rally on Akshya Tritiya, a major festival in Odisha, has made his rally all the “more special”. He also highlighte­d his government’s contributi­ons for Odisha in various sectors including upgradatio­n of highways, introducti­on Vande Bharat trains and establishm­ent of nationalle­vel educationa­l institutio­ns.

Modi last visited Odisha on May 6, when he held two rallies.
