Site of the Trojan War, Turkey
If you have read Homer’s classic poem Iliad, you might be interested in Troy, the site where the legendary Trojan War took place. Though it is an archaeological site today, it is very popular among tourists who love the story of the abduction of Helen of Troy, the legend of the wooden horse and the war that supposedly took place once. Today, tourists can visit the region where ancient Troy once stood, admire the ruins, explore the countryside and remember the Trojan war. There is even a wooden horse on the site which visitors can check out or climb up onto to get the feel of Homer’s old story.
