Audemars Piguet - an ‘outrage’ in jewellery timepieces
– an ‘outrage’ in jewellery timepieces
Audemars Piguet’s haute jewellery timepieces have always carved unique niches for themselves. Their latest offering, Diamond Outrage, lives up to their well earned reputation and indeed raises it by several notches.
Diamond Outrage is the third and final design in the trilogy of haute jewellery timepieces that commenced with Diamond Punk in 2015, followed by Diamond Fury in 2016.
A cuff watch, Diamond Outrage epitomizes its name with its explosive style that marks a shift in haute jewellery watch design. It is presented in two unique 18 carat white gold pieces, fully set with diamonds or with blue sapphires.
Glinting with the icy fascination of the Valee de Joux in winter, its structure is set with precious stones in a brilliant array of cuts. On the full diamond version, the inclusion of three baguette-set spikes shines a vibrant light on the outrageous style of this futuristic design. A rarely used technique called ‘invisible setting’, is used for each of the three distinctive baguette cut diamond points. The linear cut diamonds appear to float, being apparently held in place with no setting. The ability to create this effect is the fruit of years of patient training by expert jewelers, which is what sets Audemarspiguet well apart in a clear class of its own.
