A 19-year-old girl, a CBSE topper, was allegedly abducted near her coaching academy in Kanina of Mahendragrah district, taken to a farm near Jhajjhar and gangraped by three men on Wednesday.

Police sources said the girl, who knew all the accused, was given a drink laced with sedatives before she was raped. The accused then left her in an unconscious state at Kanina bus stand. Upon learning the girl’s ordeal, her parents approached the police to lodge a complaint. According to the girl’s family, the police initially refused to file a complaint. “We were then forced to

go the women police station and file an FIR,” her father said.

In-charge of the Rewari women police station Sarojbala said a zero FIR had been filed in her police station and was later transferred to the Kanina police station. A zero FIR can be filed at any police station and later transferred to the police station under whose jurisdiction the crime has taken place.

Three teams have been formed to nab the accused. “Once her medical reports are out and she is out of trauma, probe would gather speed. All culprits would be brought to justice,” a senior police official said.

Doctors said the girl is out of danger and her medical reports will be out in a day or two.

THE girl had joined the coaching institute in Kanina only a day before her alleged gang rape. Her teacher at the coaching academy, who knew her even before she started enrolled there, said she was a very good, decent girl. “She came with her father to the institute on September 5 and her classes began on September 11. The following day, when she did not come to class, I called her father to enquire. He said everything was fine and she would be coming back shortly. Hence, I did not press further,” he said while adding that she did not have a cell phone because she wanted to concentrate on her studies.
