Nir­mala Devi’s cus­tody ex­tended

Virud­hu­na­gar: The ju­di­cial cus­tody of sus­pended as­sis­tant pro­fes­sor Nir­mala Devi and her aides, V Mu­ru­gan and Karup­pasamy, was ex­tended till Septem­ber 17 on Fri­day. Nir­mala Devi was ar­rested af­ter she was ac­cused of lur­ing sev­eral fe­male stu­dents of the De­vanga Arts col­lege in Arup­pukot­tai into ex­tend­ing sex­ual favours to higher of­fi­cials. She was later pro­duced in Virud­hu­na­gar Ju­di­cial Mag­is­trate court on April 17 and was re­manded in Madu­rai Cen­tral Prison un­der ju­di­cial cus­tody. ENS
