Lord Venkateswara rides Pedda Se­sha Va­hanam

THE an­nual Sri­vari Salakatla Brah­mot­savams be­gan in a grand man­ner at Tiru­mala on Thurs­day. A se­ries of pro­grammes were wit­nessed by scores of devo­tees on the first day.

The po­lice, staff, vol­un­teers, of­fi­cials, Sri­vari Se­vaks, TTD of­fi­cers and other em­ploy­ees man­aged the huge con­gre­ga­tion very ef­fi­ciently.

The hill shrine was at its colour­ful best on the oc­ca­sion. ‘Dwa­jaro­hanam’, flag-hoist­ing on the tem­ple mast, was con­ducted on the aus­pi­cious Muhu­rat at 5 pm in front of Vendi Vak­ili on Thurs­day. Naidu of­fered silk clothes to the Lord on be­half of the peo­ple of Andhra Pradesh around 6.30 pm. Later, the CM par­tic­i­pated in the Chinna Se­sha Va­hanam pro­ces­sion which is the first Va­hana Seva (pro­ces­sion) in four Mada Streets.

The CM, along with his wife Bhu­vaneswari, son Nara Lokesh, daugh­ter-in-law Brah­mini and grand­son De­vansh, per­formed ‘sarkar harathi’. Elab­o­rate se­cu­rity ar­range­ments were made for the festival and CM’s visit. The Va­hana Seva started af­ter 8 pm and the crowd waited pa­tiently to wit­ness the grand event.
