Lord Venkateswara rides Pedda Sesha Vahanam
THE annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams began in a grand manner at Tirumala on Thursday. A series of programmes were witnessed by scores of devotees on the first day.
The police, staff, volunteers, officials, Srivari Sevaks, TTD officers and other employees managed the huge congregation very efficiently.
The hill shrine was at its colourful best on the occasion. ‘Dwajarohanam’, flag-hoisting on the temple mast, was conducted on the auspicious Muhurat at 5 pm in front of Vendi Vakili on Thursday. Naidu offered silk clothes to the Lord on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh around 6.30 pm. Later, the CM participated in the Chinna Sesha Vahanam procession which is the first Vahana Seva (procession) in four Mada Streets.
The CM, along with his wife Bhuvaneswari, son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmini and grandson Devansh, performed ‘sarkar harathi’.
