Woman Maoist killed in exchange of fire in AOB
Visakhapatnam: Meena, the area deputy commander, and wife of Maoist area commander Uday, was killed in an alleged exchange of fire with Greyhounds personnel in Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) on Friday. According to police, the Greyhounds personnel along with the Odisha police were combing the AOB forests since the past three months following information about the movement of Maoists in the area. The Greyhounds personnel came face-to-face with a group of Maoists at Andrapalle village resulting in an exchange of fire. Visakhapatnam Rural Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma confirmed that one woman Maoist was gunned in the encounter. It is learnt that more Maoists were injured in the gun fight and Greyhounds and Odisha police are massively combing the adjoining forest area.
