Iran ex­plor­ing new ways to en­rich ura­nium: of­fi­cial

The head of Iran's nu­clear pro­gram said the Is­lamic Repub­lic has be­gun "pre­lim­i­nary ac­tiv­i­ties for de­sign­ing" a modern process for 20 per cent ura­nium en­rich­ment for its 50-year-old re­search re­ac­tor in Tehran. His com­ment in­creases the pres­sure on the in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity as 20 per cent en­rich­ment would mean Iran has aban­doned 2015 nu­clear ac­cord. A Nepalese NGO has launched a sig­na­ture cam­paign de­mand­ing the re­turn of ter­ri­tory that Nepal lost to Bri­tish In­dia through the his­toric Su­gauli Treaty of 1815. The cam­paign was ini­ti­ated here by the Greater Nepal Na­tion­al­ist Front on Fri­day. Nepalese ter­ri­to­ries in­clud­ing Dar­jeel­ing were handed to Bri­tish In­dia as con­ces­sions at the end of An­glo-Nepal War.
