Train­ing Pro­gramme-cumOri­en­ta­tion work­shop to sen­si­tize the of­fi­cers and Staff of Ser­i­cul­ture De­part­ment about Ver­mi­com­post­ing, here to­day.

The chief Re­source per­son, Sarmesh Ku­mar, Train­ing Of­fi­cer (FTC) cov­ered in de­tail all as­pects of Ver­mi­com­post mak­ing through power point pre­sen­ta­tion.

He said that the ob­jec­tive of this train­ing is to aware the par­tic­i­pants how to uti­lize the waste ma­te­rial mul­berry nurs­ery like fallen leaves, ten­der twigs, straw, lit­ter and other bio degrad­able waste to man­u­fac­ture of high qual­ity Ver­mi­com­post. It was in­formed that Ver­mi­com­post is 50-75% cheaper and 25% lesser quan­tity is needed as com­pared to chem­i­cal fer­til­iz­ers. More over it can be a very good source of ex­tra in­come to the ser­i­cul­tur­ists through the sale of Ver­mi­com­post. Later visit to

Ver­mi­com­post unit and nat­u­rally ven­ti­lated Polly green house with in the com­plex of Direc­torate of Agri­cul­ture was con­ducted to im­part prac­ti­cal train­ing to the par­tic­i­pants. Many queries were raised by the trainees that were sat­is­fac­to­rily an­swered by the ex­perts on spot.
