An­guished over the di­lap­i­dated con­di­tion of the land al­lot­ted by the JDA for the con­struc­tion of in­door sta­dium at

Bhag­wati Na­gar, a strong con­tin­gent of Young Pan­thers led by Mr. Tarseem Singh, Dis­trict Pres­i­dent Young Pan­thers, Bhanu Par­tap Gouria, Jammu West Pres­i­dent, Young Pan­thers and Raghav Tal­war, Zonal Pres­i­dent, Young Pan­thers in the pres­ence of Par­tap Singh, State Vice Pres­i­dent Young Pan­thers staged a vo­cif­er­ous protest demon­stra­tion here in Jammu to­day. The an­gry pro­test­ers while rais­ing slo­gans against the erst­while coali­tion gov­ern­ment and BJP in par­tic­u­lar de­manded im­me­di­ate con­struc­tion of the said sta­dium to pro­mote sports cul­ture in Jammu re­gion. Ad­dress­ing the me­dia, Pratap Singh re­gret­ted that the land al­lot­ted for the in­door sta­dium at Bhag­wati na­gar has turned into a filthy place where the garbage of the ad­ja­cent ar­eas are dumped to cause nui­sance to the pub­lic health and hy­giene. He said that the land was ear­marked in 2014 for the said sta­dium but the erst­while gov­ern­ment re­mained lack­adaisi­cal to­wards en­cour­ag­ing recre­ational av­enues for the lo­cal youth. Lam­bast­ing the BJP for its servile pos­tur­ing be­fore the PDP in the past four years, he said while the sports cul­ture was pro­moted in the val­ley, Jammu re­gion was de­spi­ca­bly kept ne­glected and de­prived of in­fras­truc­tural fa­cil­i­ties meant for en­cour­ag­ing sports.

On the oc­ca­sion Tarseem Singh & Bhanu Par­tap Gouria lam­bast­ing the JDA for keep­ing the land in mess, they warned the agency to clean the land within a week or else Young Pan­thers would take an ag­i­ta­tional course.

They also urged the Gov­er­nor to take se­ri­ous cog­nizance of the pro­posal of the in­door sta­dium which has failed to see the light of the day.
