District Development Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmed today reviewed the status of languishing projects here at a meeting of the concerned departments.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, officers of R&B, PHE, PDD and other officials.

The DDC sought detailed information about the status of ongoing work on approved projects funded through the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) Limited. The meeting was informed that in PHE, Health, DIC, Irrigation and R&B sector, for 33 languishing projects an amount of Rs 59.69 crore has been approved.

While showing his displeasure over the slow pace of ongoing work on languishing projects, the DDC directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to gear up their men and machinery to complete the projects within stipulated time. He also directed the officers to prepare a list of unapproved projects, so that an aggregate demand can be raised for their expeditious completion.
