Sym­po­sium on 'Swach­hta Hi Sewa' or­ga­nized


The Depart­ment of In­for­ma­tion and Pub­lic Re­la­tions, or­ga­nized a sym­po­sium com­pe­ti­tion on the theme 'Swach­hta Hi Sewa' at Gov­ern­ment Higher Se­condary School, Salmerhi, here to­day. Prin­ci­pal of the host school, R.S Gan­dral was the chief guest while District In­for­ma­tion

Of­fi­cer, Sa­jad Bashir Sombe­ria presided over the func­tion on the oc­ca­sion.

Around 12 par­tic­i­pants of the in­sti­tu­tion took part in the com­pe­ti­tion and ex­pressed their views on the topic.

While ad­dress­ing the stu­dents, the chief guest high­lighted the im­por­tance of Swach­hta and urged upon the stu­dents to spread the mes­sage of clean­li­ness among the com­mon masses. He said clean­li­ness is not the re­spon­si­bil­ity of only few peo­ple but it is col­lec­tive re­spon­si­bil­ity of all as a so­ci­ety. He called upon the peo­ple es­pe­cially the youth to main­tain clean­li­ness and san­i­ta­tion in and around their sur­round­ings.

Dur­ing the Com­pe­ti­tion, Me­hak of class 10th stood first while Sim­ran Devi of class 11th and Anu­radha of class 10th bagged se­cond and third po­si­tion re­spec­tively. Be­sides, Sneha Sharma of class 12th and Rachna of class 9th were given con­so­la­tion prizes.

Mean­while, the DIO said that the aim of or­ga­niz­ing such con­tests in the school is to cre­ate aware­ness among the stu­dents re­gard­ing clean­li­ness and san­i­ta­tion. He urged upon the stu­dents to spread the mes­sage of Swach­hta hi Seva.

A Swach­hta pledge was also ad­min­is­tered to all the par­tic­i­pants on the oc­ca­sion.

Later, the chief guest dis­trib­uted me­men­toes and cer­tifi­cates among the par­tic­i­pants.
