Corruption, nepotism by NC, Congress destroyed J&K: Sethi

Jammu, Jan 10: BJP State General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi today lashed out at Congress and Nation Conference saying that their wrong policies not only encouraged corruption and nepotism in the state but also destroyed Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu Prabhari Jugal Dogra, Distt Presidents Baldev Singh Billoria, Ayodhya Gupta were present on the occasion. Sethi was addressing workers gathering where Arun Sethi, Sunny Seghal and along with his workers joined BJP here today.

He said that after years of governor rule, when Congress and NC came to power, their people unleashed corrupt practices, encouraged loot and some of its ministers who were bankrupt built mansions with public money and encroached upon state land and public places.

Sethi said that almost all the departments were destroyed by corrupt practices and that’s the reason it took BJP Government to streamline everything for the convenience of people. The BJP leader said that had there been an organised and credible government in place ever since independence, situation in Jammu and Kashmir would have been different. Jugal Dogra welcomed new entrants into the party fold and said that it is the party functionaries who are returning to their own food. Whosoever had left the party at whatsoever post will be asked to work on same position and strengthen BJP at all levels. Baldev Singh Billoria added that BJP is quite sensitive to people’s issues and this was the reason that it believed in giving people a transparent government for the time it stayed in power in Jammu and Kashmir State and is continuing to do so in the country, unlike in past, where Congress divided people.

He further asked party workers to gear up for upcoming elections, both state as well as general, and said the recent decision to reserve jobs for economically weaker sections from within upper casts was a longstanding demand but only the Modi government had the courage to do it.
