Bedi wants next government to be inclusive
Former Delhi police chief and anti-corruption activist Kiran Bedi enumerated a list of “cans” and “cannots” for Narendra Modi to follow if he becomes Prime Minister. Bedi wanted parliamentarians to be taught to behave responsibly, emphasised the need to include India’s two crore public servants in every decision-making process, to put in place an effective grievance redress mechanism, among others. She was speaking at the book launch of Moditva, The Idea Behind a Man.
The book was released by BJP president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday in three languages, English, Hindi and Gujarati. The book has been written by members of Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG), a non-profit organisation comprising youngsters from diverse backgrounds such as consulting, media, law, investment banking and public policy. CAG, a “Modi think-tank”, strives to engage the youth to further accountable governance in India. Headed by Siddharta Mazumdar, a Columbia University graduate and his team, the book espouses the policy ideas and initiatives of Gujarat Chief Minister and NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Congratulating CAG’s efforts, Singh said, “Narendra Modi has become a phenomenon. If the ruling government does not have the right intentions, the tenure is in no which way an indicator of good development. This country needs positive and not perverted secularism.”
