Pdp GIVes CLeaN ChIt to omar

-

On Monday, the Srinagar SSP filed an affidavit with the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, giving a clean chit to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of the NC and the former Srinagar SSP for their role in the killing of 126 youngsters during the 2010 unrest. During the election campaign, Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed had promised to book Omar Abdullah. Sources say that some PDP leaders also recently met state Congress leaders and apprised them of various difficulties in running the government. The sources said that the PDP leaders sent out feelers to the NC, saying that there would be no witch hunt against the Abdullahs. “These are pressure tactics being used by the PDP to keep the BJP in check,” said a senior NC leader. He denied that PDP has approached the NC for support in case of a pullout from the coalition government. The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate had asked the police to investigate allegations levelled by former Srinagar SSP Ashiq Hussain Bukhari against Omar Abdullah. Bukhari had claimed that Abdullah asked him why he didn’t kill Masrat Alam when he arrested the separatist leader during the 2010 unrest.
