StUdeNts protest IN srINaGar

Srinagar city on Friday saw a large student protest for the release of Muzamil, a student of University of Kashmir who was arrested by the police under suspicion of links with militant groups. However the students say he was arrested by police for opposing yoga day celebrations. Classes remained suspended and the hostels were vacated by the University of Kashmir authorities. The situation deteriorated as police lobbed teargas shells inside the Grand Mosque after they could not break the protests. All separatist leaders have called for shutdown in Srinagar city on Saturday.
