Modi’s US visit a hit for NRI community

After the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States and his speech at the US Congress, a sense of positivity and enthusiasm prevailed among the Indian communitie­s in the United States. Elisha Pulivarti, an Indian community leader who has been in the US for the last 25 years said “This is probably the first time that the whole nation is enthused and excited about a PM’s visit. There is a unique magic in Modi diplomacy which makes Indians overseas proud and secure.”

“PM Modi’s initiative­s like Make in India, Digital India, Smart Cities and housing for all, will make India the prime destinatio­n for Foreign Investment­s,” added Elisha who is also the Executive Director of the Maryland India Business Roundtable (MIBRT).

MIBRT celebrated its 10th anniversar­y on 9 June where over 22 business and political leaders were honoured for their outstandin­g achievemen­ts and contributi­ons towards economic and trade developmen­t of Maryland and India.

Among others, MIBRT honoured Subramanya K. Kusnur, Founder Member and Co-Chair of the Maryland India Business Roundtable and the Founder Chairman & CEO of Aquakraft Projects Pvt Ltd with the “Outstandin­g Emerging Social Leader Award”. Kusnur said, “We wish to contribute towards PM Modi’s vision of ‘India Next’. We are launching the US India SME Roundtable in associatio­n with the US India Business Council for not just SMEs but also Indian Americans and NRIs to inclusivel­y participat­e in the growth of India.”
