Company tests e-car with cloth Body
TOKYO: Japanese company Rimono has developed a concept car whose body is made entirely of cloth or specifically, polyester cotton, which is a waterproof material. The company recently launched the car to gauge public reaction. The battery-electric two-seater is built to navigate the world’s most crowded mega cities, and is particularly useful for running errands. A 6.8-horsepower electric motor that draws electricity from a four-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack drives the car. On a single charge it can drive upto 31 miles, with a top speed of 28 mph. The concept combines the best of a car and scooter and after customer feedback, the company may kick in operations by the summer of 2017.
