The series will be based on a short film of the same name based on the original theme of a suburban mother who plans a trip to Paris to cope with her emptynest syndrome, but things go haywire. Brad Hall, who had directed the 2011 half-an-hour movie starring his wife Julia Louis-Dreyfus, will write, direct and executive-produce the TV-series adaption along with Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. Meg Ryan will executiveproduce the series too. Ryan had vanished from the small screen after 1985’s Wildside. She had made her debut with the movie Ithaca in 2015, in which she had starred too. The show is expected to film in France and would mark Ryan’s first series regular role in over three decades. Hall previously created the NBC comedy series Watching Ellie toplined by Louis-Dreyfus. The Picture Paris short film did the awards circuit, and topped the iTunes download charts, reported deadline.com. The series will be aired on Epix.
