IN UP, SSP, TWO POLICE OFFICERS TRANSFERRED

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday transferred Bulandshahr Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna Bahadur Singh and attached him to the office of the Director General of Police here, a Home Department official said on Saturday. The state government has named Prabhakar Chowdhary as the new district police chief of Bulandshahr. Two more police officials—Circle Officer Satya Prakash Sharma and Suresh Kumar, in-charge of Chingravathi police chowki—have also been\ transferred in connection with the mob violence in Bulandshahr town on Monday where an inspector and a civilian were killed. Meanwhile, a report from Srinagar said Jitendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji, a soldier allegedly involved in the Bulandshahr firing, was detained by the 22 Rashtriya Rifles in Sopore town. Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Saturday told the media not to “prejudge” things without proof in the alleged involvement of Jitendra Malik in the Bulandshahr violence.
