Q. Tell us about Darveys?

A. Darveys provides 90+ luxury brands at up to 60% off from over 800 authorised luxury boutiques/resellers across the globe. It is a paid members-only portal wherein only members can see all prices and place orders of items. The one-time membership fee for the same is Rs 2,000. We have over 140,000 members registered on the website.

Q. What has been the most important innovation for you? A. How we have evolved machine learning in our company in the last few years is the most inspiratio­nal innovation that we as a company have achieved, it has helped us increase our gross margins by over 12 percentage points on an annual comparison basis.

Q. How did you come up with the idea of starting your own company?

A. Darveys began as a dream of a son to provide his mother with the opportunit­y to explore and enjoy fashion at an affordable price. This soon turned from a dream to business to serve each person in our country and give them access to be able to shop from around 90 luxury brands sourced from 500 authorised resellers across the globe so they can be sitting at the their homes.

Q. Who is your role model?

A. Dhirubhai Ambani and Ratan Tata are my role models.

Q. One tip or advice you would like to give to young entreprene­urs?

A. In entreprene­urship and life, you will always have difficult choices to make. They would appear easy but not always right; I’d say irrespecti­ve of how hard it gets, always choose the right path.in the long run, it is what will help you achieve success.
