MARUTI SUZUKI ERTIGA CROSSES ONE MILLION SALES

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, has captured the mid-size MPV segment in India, leading the market by an impressive 37.5 per cent share. Increasing­ly popular amongst younger buyers, the Ertiga multi-purpose vehicle has crossed the 1 million sales milestone achievemen­t, the company said, attributin­g the achievemen­t to the trust of Indian families earned by its strong performanc­e, stylish appeal and advanced technology features, ensuring widespread appeal to suit diverse requiremen­ts. “It’s also worth noting that 66 per cent of the Ertiga buyers consider it as a pre-determined choice, and is a hit across the country in both urban and rural markets, with an impressive 37.5 per cent segment market share,” said Srivastava. The company also highlights features offered in the top-end variants of the Ertiga as a strong reason for its appeal such as a 17.78 cm (7-inch) Smartplay Pro Touchscree­n Infotainme­nt System, remote A/ C^, automatic headlamps, cruise control and machined two-tone alloy wheels amongst many others.

The car is also high on utility spaces such as aircooled cup holders, frontrow armrests with utility box, bottle holders and accessory sockets in each row, and 3-stage speed control. The vehicle is powered by Next-gen K-series 1.5L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with progressiv­e smart hybrid technology, offering a fuel efficiency of up to 20.51 km/l+.

Maruti Suzuki will also launch nationwide its compact-format NEXA Service workshops. Through this strategic move, the company aims to bring the renowned NEXA service experience to customers in non-urban centers. The first six centers inaugurate­d are strategica­lly located in Ateli (Haryana), Charkhi Dadri (Haryana), Bankura (West Bengal), Dahod (Gujarat), Nirmal (Telangana) and Ooty (Tamil Nadu). After-sales service is a critical pillar to creating a delightful car ownership experience.

“With the growing similariti­es in consumer preference­s in urban and non-urban centers, there is a notable increase in interest for our NEXA offerings from both regions. Almost 30 per cent of NEXA sales come from non-urban centers,” says Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India. “Our goal is to set up 100 such workshops by the end of FY 2024-25,” Takeuchi added.
