T1 death: Sena chief seeks ju­di­cial probe

Mum­bai: Shiv Sena chief Ud­dhav Thack­eray slammed the state gov­ern­ment for ap­point­ing of­fi­cials from the for­est de­part­ment to probe the al­le­ga­tions of pro­ce­dural lapses in the killing of ti­gress Avni. He also de­manded a ju­di­cial probe headed by a re­tired high court judge into the episode.

Thack­eray said the very peo­ple who planned and sup­ported her killing and ap­pointed the sharp­shooter have been ap­pointed to probe the mat­ter. “The com­mit­tee is a farce. Why the drama of a probe? Give ev­ery­one a clean chit and fe­lic­i­tate the killers,” he said.

Aam Aadmi Party too has de­manded a ju­di­cial probe in the in­ci­dent and said that the for­est de­part­ment should launch a search op­er­a­tion to lo­cate her cubs.
